His passion for drawing and fashion is what led Elie Top to the jewelry industry. At the age of 17, he left his homeland Flanders and went studying in Paris at The Parisian School of Couture. Then, at 19 years old, he started working for Yves Saint Laurent. This experience alongside Loulou de la Falaise taught him rigor, requirement, integrity but also the perfect way to create audacious mixes. Alber Elbaz, who took over Saint Laurent gave Elie the opportunity to create his first pieces, at the age of 21. The two designers then continued to collaborate for 10 more years at Lanvin where they updated the “couture jewelry”, showing its exuberance and relevance, season after season.
